Happy New Year Beloveds,

One of the things I love to do at the beginning of the year is to reflect on all I’ve been through and experienced in the previous trip around the Sun. For me,
I became a minister, found my birth father, became the Co- Sr. Minister of our spiritual community and if that wasn’t enough, I became a wife and my daughter turned sixteen. Holy Moly! That’s a lot. And it’s wonderful and hard and joyful and painful all wrapped up in one year.

I think that’s kind of how life goes, it is a perfect whole with many, many, paths, facets, twists and turns. This Thing Itself that we call Life, God, Divine, it holds within it space for every emotion, experience, struggle and triumph. I think it’s important to remember that, when we look back on our year. It’s really okay that there are peaks and valleys. It’s really okay if we didn’t accomplish everything we set out to, and it’s really okay if we don’t get it right all the time.

One of my biggest lessons of this past year is that I may not always do things perfectly, I may make mistakes and fumble and get hurt or consequently hurt others in my journey of growing; but in the end if I am willing to open my mind and my heart to being vulnerable and teachable enough to say, ”I’ve messed up, I don’t know everything, how can I fix this? What can I learn from this?” then the power of God to heal and self-correct will inevitably prevail.

Our talk series for this month is Back to the Basics, because what better time to fertilize the soil of our lives and prepare to plant the seeds of growth than at the start of a brand new year.

I look forward to spending this year with you all and seeing what we can grow
together.

With Deep Love,

Rev. Nicole
