Happy 4th of July, it's hard to believe we are mid summer already! Wenda, Malachi and the teens will be heading to Camp Buckhorn on July 13th and we are so excited for them. This month our theme is Freedom Through Faith. We will be exploring Freedom beyond the customary 4th of July celebrations, All humans are expressions of the divine, and our consciousness creates our reality. The goal of life is freedom from all discord of any kind, including our own destructive thinking. As we examine our personal definitions and experiences of freedom, we will look at who we are, what we believe, and how we treat ourselves and others. It's going to be an awesome, introspective month.

Meet our NEWEST Volunteers

Each month we will be featuring a volunteer and highlighting their special gifts. When you see them around church, please be sure to thank them for their service and dedication to the Youth Program..

Gloria Roth works with the kindergartner thru 5th grade group on the first Sunday of each month. Having been an elementary school teacher for over 35 years, Gloria brings lots of experience, ideas and great tips like.... "keep things simple." Gloria is very intentional in learning each child's name and getting to know them personally. She is kind and and wonderful at spending one on one time with a child when we are working on crafts or projects. We love you Gloria and appreciate your dedication.

Rachel Cousineau joined the youth program after the first of the year and is already an integral part of the team. She is volunteering with the kinder to 5th grade group at least 3 Sundays a month, as well as filling in for the Youth Director when needed. Rachel has a calm, gentle nature that is well suited for the younger children. She is patient, kind and her inherent ability to just go with the flow is a divine asset amidst happy chaos. You are a blessing Rachel...... We Love you!

Allie joined our youth group volunteer family a few months ago and it is like she has always been here. Allie is warm, approachable and has an infectious smile. She is currently working with Junior High and High School teens two to three Sundays a month. Allie is flexible and willing to help anywhere she is needed. Her fun and relaxed nature makes her a natural to work with kids, and they gravitate toward her. We are so thrilled to have her. We love you Allie!

Malachi Valenzuela-Mier first came to the youth program in 2015 as a teen. He has been in the teen program and attended teen camps over the past 4 years. He has now transitioned to Advisor at camp and co-leader here at Seal Beach for our Junior high level. Malachi LOVES CSL and our philosophy. His happy and joyful nature along with his relatability make him a great leaders of the teens. Great job Malachi, we love you!

Thank you to Special Olympics for a wonderful time spent learning Bocce Ball with amazing athletes. We can't wait to do it again.!
