December is here!!! It’s hard to believe that it’s almost time to say farewell to 2019! We have so much to look back on andbe grateful for over this past year in the Youth Program. Our theme this month is A December to Remember! As the days grow shorter and cooler, we will turn inward to explore the true meaning and depth of the holidays, while also enjoying the outward experiences that accompany them. Together we will share in the sweetness and sacredness of this time of year in new and empowering ways.
GOURMETS FOR GOD
As you may have heard, there is a wonderful fundraiser for SBCSL in the works. A successful event will ensure that Teen Camp is available to everyone who wants to go, regardless of their ability to pay. We are hoping everyone, and especially our youth church families, will get involved!
What is Gourmets for God?
Gourmets for God is an inspired and fun-filled series of food-related events and opportunities for each of us to gather together, share some delicious food, support SBCSL, and get to know others in our community. Gourmets for God events include delicious food and other activities of all kinds: casual picnics; cooking classes; elegant meals; cook-outs on the beach; and any other fun food-related outings you can think up. People will bid for the chance to attend one or more of these events during our first annual Gourmets for God Silent Auction, which will take place in February!
How to I Participate?
Contact Lisa and let her know that you would like to host an event, or sign up at the Gourmets for God information table before or after service on any Sunday (you can get more information there too). Use your creativity and have fun with it – the only limit is your imagination! Consider joining forces with another family and planning something together… We are asking for full participation from our Teen Camp families – whether you host an event or bid high to attend someone else’s culinary experience at the auction!!!
