Extension for our Interim Leadership at our Jewel by the Sea
Marjorie Wray, RScP & Leadership Council Chair
Dear Congregants,
We are so blessed to have Rev John is our interim minister. I am pleased to say that he has signed a Letter of Call to continue with us as our Interim Minister for another six months. Starting in May he will be at our center 5 days a month. He will be available throughout the whole month by phone & email and participates in Zoom meetings every week. He will continue doing a workshop each month.
These workshops are to support us in developing the skills that facilitate a smooth transition for our Jewel by the Sea. I highly recommend attending these workshops. To facilitate attendance, we are not charging nor asking for a love donation. This is our gift to our community.
We have completed most of the electrical repairs that were needed for our safety. We have a whole new electrical box and wires and connections have been checked and secured. Thank you, Jim Thomason, for your sharing your expertise!
Unfortunately, we found another safety issue in April. We had a bee infestation near the front door of our sanctuary. Janice called Hive Pro Bee Removal and they found a two-foot-long honeycomb under a few shingles near the fount door. We could have paid $250 to kill the bees but chose instead to pay $875 for the bees and hive to be relocated. I am happy to report the bees and their beehive have been relocated and they’re doing well in their new location. The area was cleaned, and shingles were put back in place.
These kinds of expenses however are not in our budget. I believe Divine Right Order is in operation here, because we had some funds left over from our electrical repair fundraiser that will cover this unexpected expense.
We have a few rental possibilities that are coming up for us to look at and vet. This very exciting, however currently there is nothing concrete to share. Stay tuned for future information on this.
Much Love,
Marjorie Wray
